PUBLIC SAFETY EMPLOYER-EMPLOYEE COOPERATION ACT IS IN DANGER
The local just received word
that the Collective Bargaining bill, that passed by a
landslide vote in the U.S. House of Representatives, is in
danger of losing in the U.S. Senate. Senate offices in every
state are being bombarded by phone calls from supporters of our
two greatest enemies, National Right to Work and League of
Cities.
The Local is asking that each
member, please, contact our State Senators either by email or
phone and ask them to support this bill.
The message to deliver:
Tell them to co-sponsor and support Senator Judd
Gregg(R-NH)’s bill to help fire fighters and police
officers. Tell them the bill provides a voice in the workplace
and that it passed in the House with well over 300 votes. Tell
them to call Judd and co-sponsor his Public Safety
Employer-Employee Cooperation Act.
We
desperately need all your help to get this bill passed. Lets not
be outdone by these anti-union groups.
WE CAN WIN
THIS BATTLE, BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP!

COURAGEOUS
CHRISTOPHER 5K & STROLLER STRUT
Local 4246 members, Aaron Colegrove, Chris
Truitt, and Chris' wife Sarah and daughter Briana recently
walked in the Courageous Christopher 5k, held Saturday May 17th,
2008. The event was a huge success, raising the much
needed funds to help little Christopher get his seizure
detecting dog that will be with him every day. Strong
work!

MARCH OF DIMES
WALK 2008
Again, this year, Local 4246 was well
represented by our team in the March of Dimes Walk America, on
Sunday, April 20, 2008. We had several
Local members, as well as family members participate in the walk
and help raise money for this very important cause!
We encourage everyone to join our team next year- it is never
too late to sign up with us, and it is always painless!
